The fact that people are saying that people in Iran/the region are “used to it”. No imagination or empathy. You get on with life, of course, but how can you ever get used to the constant fear and stress of this level of danger? Not to mention the worry over everyone you hold dear too. Thoughtless, callous thing to say.
It has been over 50 years since I lived in the Middle East, I still have friends who live there and I worry and hope for them and their friends and relatives. It is harram that these wars should continue. I hold fault with the warmongers who gain from the continuing strife. We should not be living under such strain. Such daily fear and pain should not be part of our world.

Violence only ever breeds more violence. I’m sending love to the Iranian people, they do not deserve this. 💔
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Yasmin - I agree with every word you wrote.
Sending courage and solidarity to you and all Iranians.
I stand with you and all Iranians. What's happening is disgusting.
Thank you for writing this. And as a vegetarian I am so excited about your book!

Sending you love in solidarity. This is both infuriating and sad. Thanks for using your voice.
Exactly, yes, this.
